Got Green Waste Piles?

This year Truckee Fire is handling all the "piles" for chipping (or removal). Truckee Fire has a link to register your "pile", including criteria and information, by visiting www.truckeefire.org. Once registered, your pile should be removed or chipped within approximately 2 weeks. You will know you are registered when you receive an email confirmation. Remember to complete all fields when registering.

Here are a few things to know:

• Your pile must be neatly assembled (pictures on their website) on your property but near the curb (it is better to go wide than high).
• Register your pile only after you have assembled it.
• The program runs through November 1, but please create your piles now - fire season is here.
• When registering, you must complete all fields, including cost and hours. Truckee Fire is collecting this information for our FireWise Certification. If you have no costs, then enter in 0. You will have some hours assembling your pile.
• After you register your pile, you will see an email confirmation on your screen and you will receive an email confirmation.
